Vending Machine is an animated print installation, with sound. It is inspired by the robotic nature of the fast food industry. Each frame of the animation is a hand printed screen print with the cars drawn with monotype. A continuous loop of the animation is projected next to the prints. The sound is composed of various robotic voices reciting lists of fast food menu items.
In April, 2010, Vending Machine was installed at a former microchip manufacturing plant in West Lafayette, Indiana, for a show called Robotopia.
